Video CV on Youtube
Everyone knows second life, a virtual place where you can do practically anything you can do in the real world. Allthough it is widely spread around the world, the success of second life has not achieved high standard in comparasion to social networking sites such as facebook and myspace. Probably due the lack of personally of avatars that does not refect the true person behind.
Another phenomenon that is growing in the world of internet is youtube. It wasn’t clear were youtube was growing to, but it seems that many companies understood the power of mass communication through channeling on shared platforms.
Youtube was created for the individual and therefore contributes to spreading information (something irrelevant) throughout the world. Jobseekers have found a way to communicate with companies, video CV .
Great stuff, but is it really that important to be seen on video? well you judge it..
Social networks, I am not going to tell you the history of social networks and web 2.0 because you know it allready, but the only thing I would like to say is about the impact that it has been givin lately on business and jobseekers.
More and more recruiters are searching their candidates on social networks. The important stuff is not you careerpath or yours studies… but your flexibility in adapting yourself with new technology.
A recruiter will easily look at profiles with some activities within its networks like discussions (showing and sharing knowledge) with connections (envolving and growing evolution) with status (busy profile) recommendations (persons ability in teamwork and generousity).
Linkedinjob shows it very clear ”recruiters will look at pesons with recommendations”
Business is changing so as jobseekers.
Second life, facebook, linkedin, youtube…….
